We knew of Alex only through his relationship with David over the years, yet feel as though we knew him personally. I remember back in elementary school hearing of this exceptional student – really smart, loved to learn, who would seek out knowledge on his own. So when we heard last year that Alex chose to leave NYU, we weren’t surprised. His friends admired him for his courage and sense of self. He was an important part of their lives – he made a difference. And I believe that Alex will live on in them, as well as all others who knew and loved him. Karen and Jeff Peterson
