Dear Karin, Shahin, Christina and Ani, We know that no words can ease your pain right now. In fact, no words have been able to ease our pain during this past week. However, we did want to write a few words to let you know that you are, as Alex was and is, loved and that we are here to support you in any way that we can. Alex was a joy to have as Maureen’s boyfriend for the past year and a half. Not only did Maureen fall in love with Alex, but Alex’s charm made our entire family love him, as well. He was a genius but never made the rest of us feel stupid. He was a mature young man but had a childish side to him, too. He was more kind and gentle, more sensitive and thoughtful than almost anyone else we have ever known. Not one of us knows what God has in store for us and our loved ones. Did God bring Alex home to heaven because he was so close to being an angel already, or did God simply need someone to fix his computer? We don’t know and won’t know for some time. It is indde a tragedy in every sense of the word that Alex’s life was so short. However, you were truly blessed to have had him as a son and a brother for almost 20 years, and those of us who knew and loved him were blessed to have ever had him introduced into our lives for even a moment. The road ahead will be long, but I’m sure you know that Alex would never, ever want to cause you sadness. And, so, even on the bad days, try to keep in mind the joy that he brought you while he was with you. Try to remember all of his wonderful qualities and even some of his idiosyncracies. And know that all of us who loved Alex continue to love Alex and that we will be here to help you in absolutely any way that we can. You are in our prayers each and every day, and we would be honored to remain a part of your lives. God bless you all. With all of our love, Ed, Katie, Maureen and Tim
